It feels almost like cheating, but she's more than okay with this lasting however long they can make it.

Everything is so different - wooden structures instead of metal, cobblestone, dense, green shrubs (though they're covered in snow now), and an atmosphere that just feels warm instead of the...not cold, but definitely stoic air of the ARK. It's as Shadow said - it's very utilitarian, not meant to be especially cozy.]

With a delighted gasp, she can't contain her excitement and preteen energy, hurrying over to the glass pane to all but smush her face against it to look at the kitties. The little fuzzies barely even flinch at her sudden presence, and one even yawns and turns over on its other side to sleep again, flicking its tail lazily. Ouuugh...cute. ;__; ♥]
I'll be careful, don't worry. [She's pretty sure these guys won't be too bad, but Maria knows overstimulation can get them riled up to "play", which does indeed involve claws and teeth a lot of the time.] Besides, I have you with me in case anything happens.
