[Weiss just stares at Luke, eyes wide in surprise for a moment.]
You went to get an apple like anyone would on any normal day and suddenly your dad sent you to a dangerous dragon quest?
[Yeah, a dragon isn't even the most surprising part to her. She's seen at least one too... But that makes at least part of his dad sound about as nice as hers and yes, that's sarcasm instead of being a compliment. Weiss' eyes follow his fingers tracing that scar. Well, as much as they can follow while he's looking at the ground. Another thing, that they have in common, it seems, because she has a vertical one running down behind her left eye and continuing to that side of her face too. She doesn't touch hers, but it's not hidden in any way and it's also a result from what her father told her to do. And also he gets a frown for saying that thing about leaving his home. There's a part of her that wishes she would have left hers earlier too but then she may have not met her teammates, who are like family to her, and she wouldn't want to change meeting them for anything.
Weiss continues listening, mostly still eyes wide in surprise. What are the odds of running into a demigod, who's also done quests and stuff, left his home, and -- and don't even get her started about the stupid, useless gods of her home world.
But that part about someone important to her gets a small smile from Weiss. That's cute. Though smile fades into a more serious face again.]
Quests, or well, the official term is missions but same thing, are part of the deal for Huntsmen and Huntresses too. That's what we call everyone, who are licensed to fight against creatures of Grimm and criminals in Remnant.
[That explains why she has a weapon. But as for the part about her teammates, he gets another smile.]
Thank you, me and all of them really appreciate it.
[She's so going to tell about them to others too and then if they show up, maybe if someone else sees them before Weiss, they can tell them that Weiss is here too unless they happen to find Weiss first. Okay, but also...]
You're a real demigod?
[Because apparently she's still trying to wrap her head around that as if that's been the most surprising thing here so far.]
