Winter still has Iyashikei firmly in her clutches at least for another month, but at least it's still a gentle winter, and everyone's continued efforts to shovel snow and clear roofs and sidewalks have helped ensure that everyone is getting where they need to go safely. The smaller canals remain frozen, so the penguins are still around to help with ice-skating lessons. That crisp scent of snow in the chilly air that had once been filled with the smells of pine, gingerbread, cranberries, oranges, and cinnamon has begun to shift. Now, the smell of chocolate and sweets starts to mix into the air. The Solstice Express train that led to the Path of Lights, along with the Boreal Express that led to that quaint little village of elves, and one of the Council Members have completely vanished; not so much as a hint of a railroad has been left behind by either of them. If you ask where they went or how, natives tend to just shrug, saying try again next year. That's just how those trains work.
While the Winter Market is still VERY much open for the buying and selling of gifts, you notice a distinct change in... decor. Things are suddenly much more... red and pink. Of course, if you would like to sell something, just sign up and see if someone can help you construct your booth! There are fresh-baked goods, candles, ornaments, toys, clothes, and all sorts of treats to be had! As always, the Winter Market has all sorts of fun activities as well. The activities of the Winter Market have changed as well! While there is still making wishes and paper lanterns for the Double New Years, everyone seems to be getting ready for the Lunar New Years now that the Solar New Years has passed. Now there are paper crafts, making bouquets (both floral and edible types), learning how to make and bake various treats, and the favorite: learning how to make chocolates!
Of course, if you don't wish to make your own chocolates, you are more than welcome to buy the famous chocolates Council Member Mr. Wonka makes. Although, mind you, his chocolates are... unique and each type has a different effect. Of course, Mr. Wonka being who he is, the effects of the chocolates are really only clear to HIM. At the very least, there are clear instructions on the box: DO NOT EAT MORE THAN ONE A DAY. But... well, Wonka chocolates are just sooooooo good. Surely, more than ONE won't hurt... right?
Double Dark Chocolate Hearts:
Oh, where to start with the love in my heart? Everyone is just so near and dear, it's all so clear, I have to let them know and give a mighty cheer! Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Shells:
Love can be as calm or as roaring as the sea. Sometimes, I just don't know what you mean to me! Vanilla Bean Sprinkle Queen:
A sprinkle a day keeps the sadness away! With so many in one bite, your day will be incredibly bright!
And what happens if you DO end up eating more than one chocolate a day (and make no mistake, these are Wonka chocolates, it will be hard to resist!)? Well, the effects become compounded. What was supposed to only last, at most, 4 hours, will grow with every chocolate you eat. 4 hours will become 16 after two chocolates, three chocolates, and the effects last for 64 hours. But hey, can't say Wonka didn't warn you.
However, that's only the Wonka chocolates. Don't worry, the ones taught, bought, and sold at the Winter Market workshops are completely normal... barring your own abilities.
Of course, if sweet treats are not your style, there is one OTHER hot-ticket item being sold besides chocolates. Mind you, it may reveal much more than the candies do.
Being passed out are giant bouquets of ever-changing rainbow roses. The roses are rather famous and most definitely magical. Whether you want it or not, you will be handed a bouquet and then encouraged to pass it out to whomever you please. You can give as many roses as you want to a person, be it one, two, or the whole bouquet itself!
Once it has been passed from your hand to another person, the rainbow roses change colors to match your feelings for that person. What happens if you decide NOT to pass out the roses? If after 48 hours, a rose has not left your possession, then it shifts colors to how you feel about YOURSELF.
Of course, these roses being magical, they may be any number of combinations of colors.
Now, unlike Halloween, fret not, NOTHING will happen to you or anyone else if you refuse to pass out the roses. However, there is a magical effect on them that makes you disinclined to throw OUT the roses. So one way or another, you're either keeping them or passing them out.

For, at most, four hours, anyone who eats these chocolates will run up and excitedly hug every person they see. Trying to hide away from people only makes you crave going outside and being around people more.
Love can be as calm or as roaring as the sea. Sometimes, I just don't know what you mean to me!
For, at most, four hours, anyone who eats these chocolates will switch from one mood to another. One minute you might be calm and content, the next, you may be upset and insist everything is fine (it is not, in fact, fine), or you may feel particularly prone to cuddling, or you just REALLY need to get that confession off your chest!
A sprinkle a day keeps the sadness away! With so many in one bite, your day will be incredibly bright!
For, at most, four hours, anyone who eats these chocolates will be able to find the silver lining in anything. Nothing can be too bad in the world or your world back home. You are filled with content and happiness, downright gleeful if it were a particularly sprinkle-heavy chocolate.
However, that's only the Wonka chocolates. Don't worry, the ones taught, bought, and sold at the Winter Market workshops are completely normal... barring your own abilities.

Those who use the Re-Quests board will see something a bit unusual on the board... you see, there is only ONE Re-Quest and it's as much a warning as it is a Re-Quest:
LOVE POTION CREATION AND DISTRIBUTION ALERT, TREATMENT, AND CAPTURE:
LOVE POTION CREATION AND DISTRIBUTION ALERT, TREATMENT, AND CAPTURE:
Dear Denizens of Iyashikei,Of course, it is not unheard of for quite a bit of... vigilantism to occur to try and stomp out the Love Potion rings, but the police would much prefer you leave such things up to them. Though if you ask around, it's noted just how lenient the police force is should you bring in a Love Potion culprit on your own. A general "naughty, don't do that again" sort of approach, if you will.
Every year, the Iyashikei Police endeavor to ensure that those who would perpetrate the illegal creation and distribution of Love Potions throughout the year are caught and tried for this crime against consent. For those of you who are new to our fair home, please be aware that this time of year is an especially heightened use of these potions.
As always, we need YOUR help to keep an eye and ear out for those potions!
If you see anyone adding anything to anyone's drinks or food, we encourage you to immediately knock that drink or food from the potential victim's hands and then find the nearest officer to provide a description of the person responsible. If someone tries to sell you a Love Potion, try to remember the details of that person, the location, and the time of day. Do NOT purchase the Love Potion. Those found with a Love Potion in their possession will be questioned and potentially arrested for crimes against consent.
The Iyashikei Police ask that you do NOT engage in any attempts to capture any of the Love Potion purveyors unless it is a matter of your own safety or if a child is in danger.
If you have concerns that a Love Potion may have been used on you, the effects may include:
Severe and sudden obsession with the first sapient being you lay eyes upon
Physical pain when you are not within a 20-foot radius of that being's vicinity
Wanting to give or do anything asked of you by the object of your obsession
Despising anyone your object of obsession doesn't like, or those who insult or slight said object of obsession
Attempt to harm those who may already be in a committed relationship with said object of obsession Severe jealousy of anyone other than yourself near your object of obsession
More severe effects have been noted in those afflicted when an overdose of Love Potion is used, including the willingness to commit minor to severe crimes for the sake of your obsession.
If you or a loved one becomes afflicted with Love Potion effects, take them to the hospital for the antidote and, if possible, bring the contaminated object with you.
Reward: Any reports or assistance in the capture, containment, or protection of inhabitants of Iyashikei will result in a 25 Stardust Reward.
Of course, nothing ever lasts forever; such is the way of life and the universe as a whole. Winter slowly begins to fade and give way to spring. Longtime slumbering flowers start to peek through the snow and ice, and hints of green leaves begin to grow on what was once snow-laden trees. Frozen canals and rivers start to melt and make their way out to the bay and further still to the ocean. Spring is starting on its way, and Iyashikei will prepare for its arrival.
As more and more greenery begins to grow as the springtime sun makes itself known, there are excited whispers for anyone who listens. It's almost time to gather the rainbow-drops.
What are the rainbow-drops you ask? Well, while some legends always talk about a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, here in Iyashikei, there actually IS something at the end of a rainbow.
At the end of every rainbow, a field of three-leaf clovers will sprout and appear, be it on the top of someone's apartment building, in the middle of a sidewalk, or out in the Farmlands, but wherever the end of the rainbow is, little drops of color are on the three-leaf clovers made by the rainbows. Of course, while they initially look like water, each little drop is actually, a gemstone. Yes, every little drop is actually a small gem: rubies, garnets, amethysts, sapphires, topaz, the whole rainbow is there! And since they came from the rainbow itself, these gemstones are ridiculously lucky.
Jewelry makers, magic users, potion makers, and alchemists, all of them will either be scouring the fields or pay for someone to scour for them. Either way, there are dozens upon dozens of requests about getting so many amethysts, or this many rubies, or a mix of all of them. Or, you may feel inclined to keep them for yourself; they're very pretty, after all. If you're a magic student studying at Yadah University, it's recommended you have some, as every path uses the rainbow stones in some aspect or another.
However, once the Spring Equinox has passed and Iyashikei has fully transitioned into spring, the rainbow-drops will no longer appear, only coming between that magical transition from winter to spring.
Of course, with winter shifting into spring, there is another aspect to Iyashikei that must be acknowledged. New life is coming into the world, Iyashikei is becoming renewed, life that has passed in autumn and winter has given way to the new life of spring.
At night, all along the melted canals, you will be invited to join in on the Parting of the Water Lanterns. You write all of the fears, hardships, heartaches, doubts, and anything else that has been a burden on your mind and heart onto a paper waterlily or a paper lantern, and then in the designated areas, release it so that it can be carried out to the ocean in hopes of unburdening you for the Double New Years, letting the coming months be gentler and kinder to you, a reminder to be gentler and kinder to yourself as well.
As you release your lantern or waterlily, you are invited to say what it is you hope to happen with the coming of new life out loud, so that it leaves your thoughts and is put out into the universe. Don't be shy, no one here will judge what they hear.
At the Parting of the Water Lanterns, it is a more contemplative celebration, many reflecting back on the year and regarding how they might do better, be better, or releasing old grudges and trying anew, welcoming the Spring Equinox and all that may happen with new life in the world.
A Kindly Curious Question

There are several little beeps, or, depending on whether you've begun customizing it, maybe a little song instead starts to play on your Glimmer. A little envelope notification appears and does a little wiggle. Should you open this, a cute little message appears:

Hello hello Iyashikei!
This is the monthly Kindness Curious Question (K.C.Q.)! What is your favorite way to spend time with someone?
Answer honestly on the Glimmer, and you'll get your K.C.Q. Digital Sticker! It will immediately go into your K.C.Q. digital sticker album folder on your Glimmer.
What's the point, you might ask? Well, when you open that sticker and press on it, the little sticker will help you find at least ten reasons that you are amazing and it can be activated once a day!

[Wildcard (but possibly with chocolates for Sakura?)]
Still, the look in his eyes as he approaches her may betray that something is up. There's more of a frown than usual. A hint of something inherently sad. As he sees her in those clothes, he can't help but think back to how much simpler things were when they were still unaware of the truth behind the feathers. They were unaware of a lot of things, and Kurogane can't erase what he's learned since then. Even so, the air surrounding him is pleasant. He is happy to see her again.]
Hey. Are you alright?
Let's gooooo~!
[She's not drunk. But she is definitely decidedly more attached, more affectionate than usual. Especially when it isn't like she greeted Fai so enthusiastically. Or had just recently seen them both back in Piffle before ending up here. So, this is not usual for her. That much is obvious. At least, to him, who knows her well. Maybe not so much to anyone else, even if others may be staring with the way she just sort of leapt at Kurogane in her excitement. She's too excited and relieved to necessarily register the sword, or the way he frowns like that. Hasn't yet realized about his arm.]
no subject
Hmph. Seems like I arrived a little later than you two. Sorry about that.
no subject
We were looking for you! Did you find any of the others? I know Fai-san is here, too, but....
[Syaoran and Mokona, though.]
no subject
No, I haven't found the other two yet. The mage mentioned a library. That'd be the most logical place to search for them.
[It'd be where any version of Syaoran would go. Though it does beg the question of which one they'd encounter there, if indeed he is in this world.]
no subject
[She says, beaming even as she hugs him. Oblivious as to the potential if they were to encounter Syaoran, whether it was the real one or the clone. That there might be another of herself. Still, that smile is rarer, and she knows it. So she can't help beaming in return.]
Can we go? I want to find him, too!
no subject
[Another reason is that Kurogane doesn't want to let Sakura out of his sight now. She seems to have had the same chocolate that Fai had, and apart from that, he doesn't want to suddenly lose her again. If she'll cling to him the entire way there, he'll let her cling.]
no subject
[At least she had only had the one. So this would wear off soon enough. And it isn't quite the same as her being drunk and running around meowing at everyone with Fai. Still, it just means that she is rather affectionate at having reunited with Kurogane at last. As if she hadn't just seen him before she arrived here on her end, oblivious that it might have been a while on his.]
